After opening Taus Authentic fewer than three months ago, former Zealous chef/proprietor Michael Taus ( along with some investors ) have taken over The Point at 401 N. Milwaukee Ave. and are planning to open a "casual neighborhood" spot named Black Iron Tavern in late summer, Eater Chicago reported. Taus said that opening and enjoying running a more casual restaurant inspired him to do another casual spot.

James Beard Award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano of Michelin-starred Spiaggia will temporarily close Cafe Spiaggia for a renovation. After transforming Spiaggia last year, Mantuano has decided to refresh its sister restaurant with a new design, menu and wine program. Cafe Spiaggia will reopen in July.
The Jewel-Osco store at Clark and Division streets will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, to make way for an apartment tower, DNAInfo.com noted. Chicago-based Fifield Cos. will then start building its 35-story, 390-unit tower, which was first proposed years ago. Fifield said he plans to start construction on the $250-million development in July, with the tower slated to open in mid-2017.
