Center On Halsted's gymnasium was transformed into an old school prom night dance hall for DIFFA/Chicago's ( Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS/Chicago ) Dance For A DIFFArence Winter Ball.
DIFFA/Chicago's Auxiliary Board hosted its third annual DIFFArence event on Friday, March 6. It's Prom" theme, Dance for a DIFFArence had guests moving to the sounds of DJ Versage. The "prom" had everything from hot dogs, nacho's and hot pretzel's to a step and repeat where guest took photos in their best prom pose. As with every prom the night include a prom court and attendees got to vote for the king and queen. The titles were awarded to J.T. Garofalo and Stephanie Smothers. All ticket, raffle and prom court voting proceeds will go directly to Chicago-area service agencies that provide assistance, education and outreach to those living with HIV/AIDS.
DIFFA/Chicago ( The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS ) is a not-for-profit fundraising and grant-making foundation that distributes funds to Chicago area HIV/AIDS service agencies to provide direct services, preventative education and outreach to people who are HIV positive, living with AIDS or at-risk for infection. Founded in 1984, DIFFA has granted more than $40 million to hundreds of community-based organizations nationwide.
