CHICAGO — Residents of the 20th Illinois House District will have an opportunity to gain insight into the state's ongoing budget crisisand to ask questions of candidate Merry Marwig and, potentially, incumbent Mike McAuliffeat a Community Forum hosted by the Northeastern Illinois Chapter of Americans for Democratic Action.
The forum is being held to provide space for a discussion of the urgent issues that have arisen as a result of the state budget crisis, and to provide House Representative candidates an opportunity to share their views and proposals for addressing the crisis.
In addition to Candidate Merry Marwig ( who is confirmed for the Forum ), and Illinois House Representative Mike McAuliffe — who has been invited but has yet to respond, the Forum will feature 20th House District residents sharing stories of how they have been impacted by funding cuts and delayed paymentsincluding home care providers who have been impacted by overtime pay restrictions, and seniors impacted by a wide range of budget cuts.
The forum will be moderated by Richard Means, President of the Northeastern Chapter of Americans for Democratic Action.
