On May 6th, ONE Northside community leaders will push attending elected officials to advance our community solutions, then march for community power.
ONE Northside will hold a Community Convention on Sunday, March 6th, at 2:30 pm at American Islamic College in Uptown Titled "Community Power, Community Solutions." The 2018 Convention will bring 1,000 North Side leaders face to face with city, state, and federal legislators so they advance our community solutions on issues like affordable housing, education, economic justice, mental health justice, and police accountability. After the Convention is complete, attendees will march through Uptown to demand government that works for the community.
An expected one thousand people from across the North Side of Chicago — church groups, college students, people living in affordable housing, people experiencing homelessness, staff and clients at local social service agencies. Confirmed elected officials in attendance include Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, Representative Greg Harris, Representative Will Guzzardi, Representative Sara Feigenholtz, Alderman Harry Osterman, Alderman Scott Waguespack, and Alderman James Cappleman.
