Barney Frank event at Center on March 25
"Frank: An Evening with Barney Frank" will take place Wed., March 25, 7-9 p.m., at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St.
The Center, The Book Stall, Windy City Media Group and Equality Illinois are hosting the event as the former Congressman will speak about his new memoir, Frank.
Frank represented the Fourth Congressional District of Massachusetts for nearly five decades, and chaired the House Financial Services Committee from 2007 to 2013. He is the first member of congress to enter a same-sex marriage while serving in office. He is a regular commentator on MSNBC and lives near Portland, Maine, with his husband.
The evening will include a live interview and a Q&A with the audience, followed by a book signing with Frank.

Patner memorial set for March 18
The memorial service for Andrew Patner has been rescheduled for Wed., March 18, 7-9 p.m., in Orchestra Hall, 220 S. Michigan Ave.
There will be a reception following the service.
Patner, a longtime Chicago critic in print, radio and television, passed away Jan. 3. He was 55.
Patner was active within both in Chicago's fine-arts world, and LGBT and Jewish communities, among others. He was a commentator on WFMT radio, and his criticism appeared in Chicago Sun-Times, and wrote for Chicago Magazine, among numerous other publications, as well. He was inducted into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame in 2013.
'LGBTQ Leaders in Higher Education' June 26-28
"LGBTQ Leaders in Higher Education: Shaping Our Futures" will take place June 26-28 in Chicago.
The intended audience for this first-of-its-kind conference is LGBTQ administrators in higher education, as well as early professionals considering or desiring to be administrators. The conference is the first presented by LGBTQ Presidents in Higher Education, an organization begun in 2010 that now has a membership of 50 presidents and chancellors.
Conference meetings will occur at Adler University ( www.adler.edu/ ), 17 N. Dearborn St. June 26 will end with a reception and dinner at Roosevelt University, 430 S. Michigan Ave. Meetings will continue June 27. Conference attendees are invited to march with the members of LGBTQ Presidents in Higher Education in Chicago's Gay Pride Parade on Sunday, June 28.
The registration fee for the conference is $295 and includes conference attendance; breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Friday, June 26; and includes breakfast and lunch on Saturday, June 27. Register at www.lgbtqpresidents.org/ .
