Men's chorus names next artistic director
Chicago Gay Men's Chorus ( CGMC ) has named James Morehead as its next artistic director, effective Dec. 1.
The move came after an eight-month national search and audition process as well as approval from the board of directors.
Morehead succeeds Patrick Sinozich, who has led the group's artistic vision since 1997 and announced his retirement from the group last February. Morehead will begin Dec. 1 to initiate programming for the spring 2015 Sondheim tribute, while Sinozich completes CGMC's 2014 holiday performances through Dec. 20.
