Chicago transgender residents Precious Davis and Myles Brady were part of the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards ( VMAs ).
Davis and fiance Myles Brady were part of a transgender contingent that introduced host Miley Cyrus' newest single. Cyrus herself recently came out as pansexual.
Davis captioned one Facebook photo of her and Brady thusly: " @mrmylesbrady and I at the #vmas tonight representing the @happyhippiefdn #mylesandprecious #dreamscometrue #transisbeautiful." She also commented on the night's happenings, such as when Chicago rapper Kanye West made his speech after accepting the Video Vanguard Award: " Kanye is preaching in this house and taking no prisoners! This speech is pop-culture gold."
Regarding the awards themselves, it was Taylor Swift's night, as the converted pop singer ( and rapper Kendrick Lamar ) won Video of the Year and Best Collaboration for "Bad Blood." She also won Best Female Video and Best Pop Video for "Blank Space." Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson won Best Male Video for "Uptown Funk."
Among those who performed and/or presented were Swift ( with Nicki Minaj, at one point ), Britney Spears, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Pharrell Williams, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.
