Chicago volleyball teams won big in Cleveland over the weekend of April 26-27 at the Lake Erie Classic Volleyball Tournament. Over 30 teams played at this competition that LEVA ( Lake Erie Volleyball Association ) hosted and that NAGVA ( North America Gay Volleyball Association ) sanctioned.
Taking first place in Division A was Chicago Manila Fiestaa team Chicago businessman Norm Rome sponsors. The team is a composite of the players from both Chicago and Columbus. ( Teams with players from different cities is common. )
Columbus Poundtown and St. Louis GBC took second and third place, respectively.
Honors for first place in division B were given to St. Louis Notorious P.I.G. Chicago Fast Forward and Chicago Blitzed took second and third. Additional honors of All Star Awards were given to Kurt Boden, Clark Brown and Angelo L. Spicutta, from these teams.
The winner of division BB was Chicago To Wong Foo. All-Star Awards were given to Brady Hudson and Jason Butles. Team member Edward Supan was selected the tournament MVP. Dayton Twerkers and Lexington Swirl took second and third.
