Registration for the 19th annual Chicago Polar Plunge is now open to all.
The Chicago Polar Plunge will take place at North Avenue Beach on Sunday, March 3, and helps to support the activities and events enjoyed by the 7,500 athletes of SCC/Special Olympics Chicago.
Registration is available by visiting ChicagoPolarPlunge.org . Registrants are asked to raise a minimum of $200. New in 2019, high school students and younger will be able to participate at a reduced minimum donation of $100. Registered plungers also have the opportunity to create their own fundraising page to help jump-start their efforts.
In the last several years, the Chicago Polar Plunge has become one of the most popular winter events in Chicago, with participation from Mayor Rahm Emanuel; late-night talk-show host Jimmy Fallon; actors Vince Vaughn and Dax Shepard; musician/artist Lady Gaga; the casts of Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med; and personalities from The TODAY Show.
