Chicago House celebrated is 31st Annual Spring Brunch and Fashion Show at the Harold Washington Library's Winter Garden Ballroom.
This year's theme was "Unity on the Runway," presented and hosted by co-chairs Chris and Derek Bagley. "We want our guests to feel inspired and unified as a community," they said. "Our theme plays with current fashion trendshow they are making more than just a statement on the runway," said Executive Producer Quenten Schumacher.
Guests enjoyed a three-course gourmet brunch by Inspired Catering, sipped on cocktails from Buzzbox Cocktails, and wine and champagne by LKH Management. They also bid on live-auction items that included a South African safari and a stay in a Tuscan Villa with airfare provided by Orbitz.
Guests were also able to purchase flowers at the one-of-a-kind "Flower Market," a favorite attendee pastime at this event. The market featured more than 60 fresh floral arrangements from different local designers, all sold to benefit Chicago House, before the show.
Emceed by media personality, blogger and Candid Candace TV host Candace Jordan, the runway show featured spring 2017 looks from local boutiques CRAM, Soundoff Design and J-Toor, plus feature a showcase of work from up-and-coming costume designer Raul Redaggio. Chicago House also presented its annual Spirit Award to Ray Lechner, Ph.D., superintendent of Wilmette Public Schools, District 39, for his years of service and dedication on Chicago House's board and as board chair.
