The Chicago Force opened the playoffs with a dominant 70-14 win over the Indy Crash on Saturday, June 30, at Evanston Township High School.
Mary Choules, a Force rookie, had her first two-touchdown game, scoring on a 30-yard carry at 10:40 of the first quarter and then on a 1-yard carry in the third quarter. Choules was named the Spin Nightclub Offensive MVP.
"This was amazing, a thrill; I really loved it today," Choules said. "This showed that all of the hard-work in practice pays off.
"Scoring that first touchdown was so exciting, especially since it came so early in the game. The offensive line really brought it today. This was, so far, the most exciting game of my career."
The Force led 23-0 after the first quarter, which included a 48-yard touchdown pass from Sami Grisafe to Ashley Berggren.
After the Crash scored early in the second quarter to cut the score to 23-8, the Force scored 47 unanswered points, including a 33-yard TD reception by Trish Harper and a 34-yar TD reception by Albi Zhubi.
The Force plays host to the Jacksonville Dixie Blues on Saturday, July 7. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m
