New York-based musical organization The Mabel Mercer Foundation will return to the Midwest this spring for the first time since 2006 to present its fourth Chicago Cabaret Convention.
Three completely different concerts are planned, opening Wed., April 19, at 6:30 p.m. at The Empire Room of the Palmer House Hilton, 17 E. Monroe St., and continuing Thursday-Friday, April 20-21, at 8 p.m. at the Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave.
The shows will feature more than two dozen classic cabaret entertainers from around the country.
The Empire Room evening is $150, including cocktails and hors d'oeuvres amidst musical interludes. The Park West events are priced at $100 for reserved seating and $50 and $25 for general admission. Advance reservations for all three nights are strongly recommended; tickets for the Empire Room may be purchased through the Mercer Foundation ( info@mabelmercer.org or 212-980-3026 ).
