Presented by the Equality Project, Inc., the Chicago Red Dress Party is an event dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the HIV/AIDS movement.
The annual party was held April 22 at Center on Halsted. Guests dressed in red enjoyed apps, drinks and a show throughout the evening. Among the performers were Jade Sotomayer, a former Windy City Timess 30 Under 30 honoree who also competed on RuPaul's Drag Race, and drag queen Alexis Hex. Entertainer Miss Foozie hosted and DJ Ryan Bejlovec, an American Idol finalist, played the tunes on the stage.
Silent-auction items included Gun Oil Lube gift baskets, theater tickets and restaurant gift certificates.
Start shopping for a new red dress, as the date is set next year for April 14, at the same location. More information can be found and donations will be accepted at ChicagoRedDressParty.org .
