Professional singers from the musical worlds of cabaret, musical theater and opera will join forces to present the first annual "Caring by Sharing" concert to support those affected by HIV-AIDS and to remember the lives of those who have passed away.

On Friday, Dec. 1, this event will be held at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, located at 1650 W. Foster Avenue ( at Paulina ) in Chicago. The concert is being produced by area singer/producer, Kevin Wood and being co-promoted by the Windy City Times, Ebenezer Lutheran Church and the PaternoGroup. The program will begin at 7 p.m.

All the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Chicago Dancers United ( CDU ) to aid in their outreach to dancers affected by health issues, including but not limited to HIV/AIDS.

Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com and range in price from $25-$35. Donations may also be made at the CDU website: chicagodancersunited.org

The list of performers scheduled to appear is: Kevin Wood, Beckie Menzie, Tom Michael

Carla Gordon, David Edelfelt, Cynthia Clarey, Cheryl Szucsits, Amanda Marchesci, Jessie Oliver, Katherine Werbiansky, Amy Malaney, Jeremy Cohn, Amy Friedl Stoner, David Meulemans and Denise McGowan Tracy.

The concert will include an emotionally charged mix of inspirational, poignant songs and uptempo tunes as well classic musical theater repertoire. With an early start time of 7 p.m., there will still be plenty of time post concert to attend a holiday party, stop for a beverage in Andersonville or make a late dinner reservation.

We encourage you to honor those affected by HIV/AIDS and those who have died in some way. We would be honored if you choose to join us at this musical celebration!

For additional information, please contact Kevin Wood at kwwaria@yahoo or via phone at 773 636-3040.
