From a press release

Today, candidate for Cook County Commissioner of the 15th District Kevin B. Morrison was endorsed by leading progressive champion Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky.

"Kevin is a tireless advocate who will bring a new perspective to the Cook County Board," said Congresswoman Schakowsky. "Kevin has worked tirelessly to make our community stronger and our schools more inclusive and if elected, Kevin will make history as the first openly LGBTQ person to serve on our Cook County board. I am proud to endorse Kevin Morrison for 15th District Cook County Commissioner."

Kevin B. Morrison is running against the current Chair of the Illinois Republican Party 15th District Cook County Commissioner Tim Schneider. Schneider is a supporter of President Trump and Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, who seek to destroy working families and the middle-class. Schneider's policies seek to only protect the millionaires in the district.

"I am honored to receive the endorsement of Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky. She has been a role model and mentor fighting for workers' rights, minimum wage increases, protecting immigrant and women's rights," said candidate for Cook County Commissioner of the 15th District Kevin B. Morrison. "I look forward to working with her to ensure that the families in our district are represented in a fair and inclusive manner."

About Kevin B. Morrison:

Kevin B. Morrison has dedicated his life to organizing communities for better representation and services, while also devoting many years to his family and their small business. With Cook County at a crossroads, he decided to run for Commissioner to ensure it's residents have a strong voice representing the 15th District. Running against the Chair of Illinois' Republican Party, he looks forward to bringing inclusive leadership to the district. Raised in Elk Grove Village, Kevin attended Link, Mead, and Conant High School. He went on to graduate from DePaul University, studying Political Science, Environmental Science, and LGQ Studies. When elected, Kevin would become the first openly LGBT and youngest Commissioner to the Cook County Board.

Endorsements:

Morrison has also been endorsed by Run for Something, Citizen Action Illinois, Personal PAC, United Food and Commercial Workers ( UFCW ), Chicago Federation of Labor ( CFL ), SEIU Illinois State Council, AFSCME Illinois Council 31, Teamsters Local 700, Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, Cement Masons and Plasterers Local 502, Mechanics Local 701, Equality Illinois PAC, Central Committeeman Mike Cudzik, Committeemen Ted Mason, Mark Walker, State Representative Rob Martwick, State Senators Cristina Castro, Omar Aquino, John G Mulroe, Cook County Recorder of Deeds Karen Yarbrough, Elgin Township Supervisor Franklin Ramirez, and the Elk Grove Township Democrats.
