South Side nonprofit Social Change announced that it is partnering with Lyft to #LyftUp people in need by helping them get to where they need to go.
Specifically, as a result of this partnership, Social Change is inviting people in the Chicago area who need transportation assistance in order to get someplace essential ( e.g. essential workers, to get food, for medical reasons, etc. ) to direct message them on social media. Social Change can then provide the individual with a code that can be used for a LYFT that can drop them off, pick them up, or even pick them up and have a care wait for them to drop them back off if the errand is quick enough.
This effort is in addition to the more than 23,000 lbs of food, 5,000 masks and gloves, 1,000 hygiene products ( e.g. soap, tampons, etc. ), and 400 gallons of hand sanitizer that Social Change and its partners have secured and distributed to those in need.
