A workshop entitled Building a Trans-Inclusive Community will be presented by Kate Harrington-Rosen & Jes Scheinpflug from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 607 Lake Street in Evanston.
Because work, school, worship, friends and family tend to be conditioned by society to view and treat gender in ways that don't serve society well, this interactive 2-hour workshop is designed for community members who want to discuss how to create more trans-affirming spaces.
This workshop aims to:
- discuss terminology 101
- dismantle the limited ways we view gender
- highlight legal protections for trans & gender nonconforming ( TGNC ) folks
- share tools for interrupting transphobia
