The Coalition for Justice and Respect—a Black LGBT social-justice organization—in conjunction with several other groups will hold an African-American Lesbian and Gay Pride event entitled 'Power/Empower' on June 8-9.

There will be a meet-and-greet on June 8 at the Prop House, 1675 N. Elston, at 10 p.m. The following day, there will be an underwriters reception and a concert at the DuSable Museum of African-American History, 740 E. 56th Pl. Call 773-559-1751.
