Big Chicks, 5025 N. Sheridan Rd., welcomed the community to three events over the weekend to mark three decades doing business in Uptown.

More of the Big Chicks story at the link: .

The big anniversary weekend started Saturday, Dec. 10, saw the "Family and Staff" party, which was a lighter gathering of employees past and present, along with other key figures in the growth of the bar. On Sunday, Dec. 11, the "Family and Friends" party packed the place, complete with seemingly endless pizzas being passed throughout the crowd and many other delicious bites. After 9:30 pm, the doors opened to the wider public.

Hundreds gathered to toast 30 years and to congratulate owner Michelle Fire, who has been with the bar since its inception. Many former employees and friends even traveled back to Chicago for the weekend to be part of the festivities.
