Artemisia, A Chicago Podcast, produces raw, unedited conversations about feminism with theatre artists, business and non-profit leaders, activists and advocates that embrace feminism as an important aspect of their work and their lives. Special programming includes readings of classic and contemporary feminist plays. The show is hosted by Julie Proudfoot, Artemisia Artistic Director.

Tracy Baim is publisher of the Chicago Reader newspaper. She is owner and past publisher of Windy City Times, a weekly LGBTQ newspaper she co-founded in 1985. Baim received the 2013 Chicago Headline Club Lifetime Achievement Award for her 30 years in journalism. In 2014, she was inducted into the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association Hall of Fame. Robert Feder named her to his Top 20 women in Chicago journalism list. In 2016, she received the American Institute of Architects-Chicago Presidential Citation Award for her work on tiny homes for the homeless. Baim's most recent books are Kuda: Gay and Proud and Barbara Gittings: Gay Pioneer. Baim was executive producer of the lesbian film Hannah Free, starring Sharon Gless, and Scrooge & Marley. She is creator of That's So Gay!, an LGBT trivia game. Baim is the founder of the Pride Action Tank, and in 2013, founded the March on Springfield for Marriage Equality.
The Chicago Reader launched the Chicago Independent Media Alliance in 2019 to help bring together a wide range of local media for editorial and business partnerships. Chicago needs local, authentic media outlets to survive to tell the stories from and for their communities: African American, Latinx, Asian, LGBTQ, geographic and special-topic media, and alt weeklies like the Chicago Reader.
