These grants cross all artistic disciplines, reach 48 states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and also support partnerships between the arts and non-arts sectors.

Forty-eight grants ( totaling $1.43 million ) have been recommended to Illinois organizations. A few of the grant recipients include 3Arts, Inc ( $15,000 ), Art Institute of Chicago ( $70,000 on behalf of the institute; $10,000 on behalf of the Gene Siskel Film Center ), Chicago Architecture Foundation ( $35,000 ), Chicago Filmmakers ( $25,000 ), Columbia College Chicago ( $30,000 ), Facets Multimedia Incorporated ( $65,000 ), Joffrey Ballet ( $20,000 ), Lookingglass Theatre Company ( $20,000 ), Snow City Arts Foundation ( $20,000 ) and Steppenwolf Theatre Company ( $60,000 ).
