The NewTown Writers will present a live lit and open mic event on Jan. 19 to celebrate the publication of the group's latest Off the Rocks anthology.

This edition, volume 20 in the series, has been organized around the theme of "Coming Out on Stage" by editor Allison Fradkin. It features both local and national LGBTQ writers exploring the community's relationship to the performing arts.

Featured readers announced by Chuck Kramer, who is hosting the event, are: Marc Frazier, Kevin Rooker, and Adrian Ford. There will also be a number of open mic readers and anyone interested in reading ( 7 minutes of prose or poetry ) can sign up the night of the event. All are welcome.

The reading will take place at the Gerber-Hart Library ( 6500 N. Clark St. Chicago, IL 60626 ( 773 ) 381-8030 ) on Thursday, January 19, 2017, 7 - 9 pm. Refreshments will be served.
