Marin Alsopthe openly lesbian music director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra and chief conductor designate of the ORF Vienna Radio Symphonywill lead the Chicago Symphony Orchestra ( CSO ) in subscription concerts on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 19, at 1:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m.
The concerts ( at the Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Ave. ) are part of a larger set of public programs, "A Time for ReflectionA Message of Peace," organized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the World War I Armistice on Nov. 11, 1918.
These programs are presented with leadership support from Colonel ( IL ) Jennifer N. Pritzker, IL ARNG ( retired ), who is the president and founder of the Pritzker Military Foundation and the president/CEO of TAWANI Enterprises, Inc.
