Howard Brown Health Center is partnering with Horizons, Affinity Community Services, Amigas Latinas, Literary Exchange, The Chicago Dept. of Health Office of Lesbian and Gay Health, and The City of Chicago University of Illinois at Chicago to put on the second annual Women Who Love Women Health Fest.
Last year's festival was attended by more than 300 women, and is expected to draw more than 500 women this year. Attendees will also enjoy a vast array of workshops, free refreshments and entertainment including poetry readings by CC Carter and friends, and drumming by Groove Ova.
The event will be Sunday, Sept. 15 at The University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago Circle Center, 750 S. Halsted.

Meanwhile, the Mautner Project will present the National Lesbian Health Conference: Healing Works, Sept. 26-28 in Washington, D.C. "The National Lesbian Health Conference is crucial to the advancement of lesbian health on all levels," said Mautner Project Executive Director, Kathleen DeBold. The National Lesbian Health Conference: Healing Works is planned and sponsored by a broad coalition of more than 60 groups and agencies including the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, National Latino/Latina Gay and Lesbian Organization ( LLEGO ) , Senior Action in a Gay Environment ( SAGE ) , National Coalition of LGBT Health Projects, Sexual Minority Youth Coalition, and the Zuna Institute.
