In a first of its kind endeavor, A Queer Pride transforms the space into a retro-futuristic immersive experience called Junipero Disco - inspired by time travel, queer love, San Junipero and reimagining gay bathhouse culture. Juniper Disco recenters this nostalgia and romanticization to focus on queer women, femmes and people of color. The popup will be an an extensive installation by Anarchitype Productions of classic fixtures of a bathhouse- lockers, steam room etc, combined with 80s aesthetics of neon, two-tone colored lighting, arcade games and more. In an effort to bring together various queer communities in Chicago, Junipero Disco will host special edition takeovers from 14 different LGBTQ nightlife curators, collectives and promoters, allowing for a rotating cast of some of the best DJs, performers and hosts in the city, including special guests like Charli XCX and Mykki Blanco .

Enter the space through a beautifully painted mural from AndyB and her crew of queer women and femmes.

Additionally, the PopUp will be making donations from drink sales to benefit Transformative Justice Law Project, a Chicago based organization that provides legal services to trans folks, including a free monthly Name Change Mobilization at the Daley Center.
