70th Annual Emmy nominations announced

The 2018 Emmy nominations have been announced.

Outstanding Drama Series nods went to The Americans, The Crown, Game of Thrones, The Handmaid's Tale, Stranger Things, This Is Us and Westworld. Atlanta, Barry, Black-ish, Curb Your Enthusiasm, GLOW, The Marvelous Ms. Maisel, Silicon Valley and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt are in the running for Oustanding Comedy Series.

The LGBT event The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story is one of the nominees for Outstanding Limited Series, along with Genius: Picasso, Godless, Patrick Melrose and The Alienist. The revival Queer Eye is among the shows competing for Best Structured Reality Series.

Evan Rachel Wood, Sarah Paulson, RuPaul, Kate McKinnon, Tituss Burgess, Ellen DeGeneres, Tim Gunn, Lily Tomlin and Jane Lynch were among the LGBT TV figures garnering nods in various categories. A few of the other actors and actresses receiving nominations included Matthew Rhys, Sterling K. Brown, Regina King, Elisabeth Moss, Henry Winkler, Allison Janney, Donald Glover, Darren Criss, Tatiana Maslany, Megan Mullally, Antonio Banderas, Leslie Jones and Laurie Metcalf.

The 70th Emmy Awards will air Monday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. CT on NBC.
