Action-movie actor Jason Statham has apologized for allegedly using a homophobic slur during a private conversation, Page Six noted. The actor and producer allegedly repeatedly said "f—king f—s" during a conversation with Steve Casman on the set of his 2015 film Wild Card, according to The Blast. Statham, who is married to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, said he has no recollection of the conversation in question; however, he wanted to be clear that's not how he feels about the LGBTQ community.

Pauley Perrette took to Twitter to respond to CBS' statement on her tweets suggesting that she was the victim of "multiple physical assaults" which may have led to her departure from the show NCIS, Deadline noted. "I want to thank my studio and network CBS They have always been so good to me and always had my back," she tweeted. Her response came shortly after CBS released a statement saying, "Pauley Perrette had a terrific run on NCIS and we are all going to miss her. Media sources tell us that the famed human-rights attorney decided at the last minute to walk the red carpet in a dramatic "backup" outfit by hot British designer Richard Quinn, a bustier and pants with a billowing floral train. Writer-producer Bryan Fuller is accusing 20th Century Fox of "hetero-washing" the story of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in a new trailer and marketing materials for the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, TheWrap noted. A trailer shows actress Lucy Boynton ( playing Mercury's muse, Mary Austin ) staring longingly at star Rami Malek as Mercury, and also leaping into his arms. The footage also features a young man coming on to Malek's Mercury in a recording studio, but it's blink-and-miss.
The movie Deadpool 2 features the big screen's first explicitly queer superhero, according to Pride.com . The superhero Negasonic Teenage Warhead, who was in the first Deadpool movie, now has a girlfriend named Yukioa chain-wielding mutant. According to INTO, "The scene in question takes place when Deadpool visits the X-Mansion for the first time and meets the couple together, holding hands," critic David Opie wrote. Marvel cut Valkeryie's scene in Thor: Ragnarok that was a nod to her bisexuality, and ignored the same-sex relationship between Okoye and Ayo in the Black Panther comic universe.

Audiences are filing out of the world premiere screening of Kevin Macdonald's Whitney at the Cannes Film Festivaltand it's a new documentary that sheds new light on iconic singer Whitney Houston's rise-and-fall story, Deadline.com noted. Interviewing Houston's closest family and friends, Macdonald made two new discoveries that appear in the film: one, that the singer had been abused as a child, and, two, that the abuser was a woman, Houston's cousin Dee-Dee Warwick ( who died in 2008 )the late sister of soul icon Dionne. Macdonald told Deadline he wished he could've spoken with Robyn Crawford, Houston's assistant/best friend with whom she reportedly had an affair.

A section of Randolph in downtown Detroit will be renamed Michael Jackson Avenue during a June 15 ceremony, ahead of Detroit Music Weekend. Four of Jackson's brothersJackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlonare scheduled to perform during the festival; they also will receive a key to the city. The Gary, Indiana, brothers signed in 1968 with Detroit's Motown and had hits that included "I Want You Back" and "ABC."

Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean Cobain have won a court case that seals the photos of Kurt Cobain's death, NME.com noted. ournalist Richard Lee, who is a long-term believer that Cobain was murdered, sought the pictures under the Washington State's Public Records Act. Lee sued Seattle and its police department in 2014 and is described by the courts as "a conspiracy theorist who believes that Mr. Cobain was murdered."
Detail, the producer behind Beyonce's "Drunk in Love" and several Drake and Nicki Minaj songs, has been accused of raping two singers, according to Vulture. TMZ reported that the two women, Kristina Buch and Peyton Ackley, have filed legal documents claiming that Detail ( real name: Noel Fisher ) subjected them to physical and mental abuse under the pretenses of furthering their music careers. Singer Bebe Rexha has also revealed that Detail attempted to assault her when she was a new artist.
Disney has discussed bringing embattled Pixar boss John Lasseter back to the company in a new role, six months after the head of the studio's animation division took a self-imposed sabbatical following reported complaints of workplace misconduct, TheWrap noted. According to the Wall Street Journal, Disney executives are considering a new role that would give Lasseter less managerial power but full creative influence over the studio's animated projects.
