Design specialist and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star Bobby Berk pulled into Chicago on May 16 to help Lowe's Home Improvement/Hardware and General Electric rollout a new product line and retail format.
The invitation-only event took place at Lowe's flagship store at 1360 N. Ashland Ave., and featured refreshments, goodie bags, and a short presentation from Berk, General Electric Director of Communications Alicia Gauer and Lowe's Business Development Consultant Tom Koestring.
As guests dined on mini-tacos, sirloin sliders and freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice, Berk, Gauer and Koestring talked about General Electric's new line of home use light bulbs and Lowe's new retail display section. Berk spoke on how when he designs a space, the lighting plays as integral a part as the furnishings; he then provided a humorous anecdote about a client who changed the lighting from his specifications.
Gauer spoke at length about General Electric's new line of lighting with an emphasis on packaging while Koestring spoke about the new customer-friendly display section that is designed to help the customer choose the appropriate bulb for the right space and use.
The new lighting and displays will be featured nationwide in Lowe's Home Improvement and Hardware stores. |
