The 14th annual Windy City Times 30 Under 30 Awards were held June 27 at the Center on Halsted. Individuals from all parts of the LGBTQIA communities were honored at the event.
The Windy City Times receives community nominations for the awards each spring, and WCT staff select the best in LGBTQIA activism, business, culture, non-profit work and more. The awards are co-sponsored by the Center on Halsted, AIDS Foundation of Chicago and Chicago House.
Jeff Marshall, a top 23 finalist for the Windy City Times Windy City Gay Idol 2013, started the show with a rendition of "The Impossible Dream."
Windy City Queercast host Amy Matheny and Nightspots Managing Editor Kirk Williamson hosted the awards, which are coordinated each year by Managing Editor Andrew Davis, with support from Associate Editor Kate Sosin and Publisher Tracy Baim.
