'Making History, Honoring Our Heroes,' the annual benefit for Gerber/Hart Library, will take place Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Swedish American Museum Center, 5211 N. Clark. Keynote speakers at the event will be Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, founders of the Daughters of Bilitis. Tickets to the event are $75 and $125. Tickets can be purchased at Gerber/Hart Library either in person or by phone; at Women & Children First, 5233 N. Clark; or at www.gerberhart.org .
Also, Gerber Hart celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Daughters of Bilitis, the first American lesbian organization, Sept. 18.
