FOX, Christmas night, 8 p.m Finale, Jan. 1. U.S. viewers will get a rare chance to see popular gay British superstar Will Young as he competes against the U.S.'s Kelly Clarkson and POP IDOL winners from other countries In a two-part global TV event Christmas night and Jan. 1. IDOLS winners from around the globe will battle it out for the WORLD IDOL title as an international panel of judges, including Simon Cowell, give feedback on their performances. On Jan. 1, the WORLD IDOL will be crowned, and Elton John will make a guest appearance.
Other contestants include: Norway's Kurt Nilsen, a former plumber; Diana Karzon, of the Pan Arabic region of 11 countries; Belgian Peter Evrard, 28, doing Nirvana's 'Lithium,' and the newest IDOL winner—Guy Sebastian, 22, from Australia.
