The first-place winner in this year's Windy City Gay Idol was Sue Heggeland, a finalist from Star Gaze. She captured the crown won last year by Luis, who sang a wonderful farewell song before Sue took the crown in a squeaker over Jody for the 2004 Windy City Gay Idol title. Jody finished a close second, followed by Caitlin. Others who made it to round two, the seven finalists, were Adia, B.B., Suzi, and Debbie. This is the first woman to win a Windy City Gay Idol contest (Matt won the suburban title last fall).
Sue took home $4,000 in cash and prizes, including American Airlines tickets, a Bud Light mountain bike, Vox gifts, and lots more. Other sponsors were Creaoke, Materville Studios, and Windy City Media Group. Thanks to all the preliminary bars who hosted events, and semi-final host Eagle, and finals host Circuit.
