Clive Richards, 67, apparently hanged himself the day before he was scheduled to appear in court after being charged with indecency.
Longtime friend Les Graddon told a judicial inquest that Richards told him he was having same-sex relationships. ' [ Richards ] was more concerned that the fact he was homosexual was going to come out in the press,' Graddon said.
Richards was a member of a local rugby club as well as part of a choir and a local amateur opera society.
