Scary and intriguing sights were in abundance as the Triangle Neighbors Association, a branch of the Lake View Citizens' Council, in conjunction with the Northalsted Area Merchants Association, presented the 11th Annual North Halsted Street Halloween Parade ( with the theme 'Fire Breathin'' ) on Oct. 31. Thousands showed up to view the festivities as the event stepped off from Belmont and Halsted and wound up at Halsted and Roscoe. Over $5,000 in costume contest cash and prizes, including airline tickets for two, were presented to winners—and there was also post-parade entertainment. Photos by Kat Fitzgerald.
