pubert probes: porn star dean monroe

facebook twitter stumble upon digg google +1 reddit email

Pubert: I have reviewed several of your movies in my column and wanted to know what your first movie was like? How did you get into the business?

Dean Monroe: My first film was called The White Room and it was shot in London. It was important both for my career and for porn in Britain because it was the first hardcore production made in the UK and was sold legally with the new R18 classification. It got a lot of press and and gave me a lot of exposure. Something I wasn't prepared for. To me porn was and still is like a 'serious hobby.'

P: If you could demand one thing on a porn set what would it be?

DM: I would love to have a little relaxation booth somewhere on set where I could close myself off from the cast and crew and chill. There is always a lot of waiting around when shooting a scene and never anywhere to go.

P: What do you do to prepare yourself for a shoot?

DM: Well, firstly there are all the obvious physical things like having a good tan, trimming my body hair, making sure I'm in good shape—abs are very important—making sure I'm perfectly clean inside and out.

Then there is the emotional side, like trying to get to know my scene partner and make some kind of connection with him. Lastly, making sure I know what the director expects of me and telling the director what my preferences are.

P: You are exclusive for Falcon right? So how does that work when you make movies for other companies?

DM: I was an exclusive for Falcon for 3 years. I ended my contract over a year ago because I wanted to experience working with other companies. Being an exclusive is good if you have just started in the industry. It gives you security and reassurance knowing that you are contracted to shoot a certain number of films and that you have the support of the company with every project you do, be it a personal appearance, an interview, or a magazine spread. Falcon is very good at looking after their exclusives.

P: What would you be doing if you were not working in porn?

DM: I would still love to be an entertainer, be it acting or singing. I just actually finished recording some songs I wrote; I hope to release the single around Christmastime.

P: Most surprising thing about porn that you never expected.

DM: I never expected to meet so many great and interesting people. I'm not saying everyone is great in the industry, but I'm constantly surprised at the amount of fanatstic guys and girls that I meet on set and and behind the cameras who deal with the business side.

P: Your Web site,, looks great. What are your plans for the future? Any plans to come to Chicago?

DM: Thanks. I'm concentrating on my blog DEANMONROESWORLD much more now because the fans love to log in and see my most recent activities. I try to post things on a daily basis, be it [ info about ] a shoot I'm doing or a trip Im on, or even just my own private thoughts with personal photos. My plans for the future are big. I want my own production company and I'm on the road to starting it soon. I would love to do a tour of America and visit all the places I haven't been, including Chicago to meet all the fans.

P: Thanks for your time, now get back to the set and make some movies for us!

DM: Will do. Thank you and all my love goes out to the people who support us in the industry.
