Paris Hilton and a same-sex kiss were the hot topics at the MTV Movie Awards that took place June 3. Hilton appeared at the event hours before checking herself into the Los Angeles County for a three-week stay, while Talladega Nights stars Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Farrell won an award for Best Kiss—and then commenced making out with each other on stage. Other award winners included Jack Nicholson ( The Departed ) for Best Villain and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest for Best Movie.

On her Web site, singer Britney Spears characterized herself as hitting 'rock bottom' while in rehab earlier this year, according to IHT.com . 'I was like a bad kid running around with ADD,' she wrote. Spears is currently staging a comeback with nightclub shows and an upcoming CD.

A friend of troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has said that the Mean Girls star is doing well in rehab at Malibu's Promises treatment center, People.com reported. Nate Newell, a stylist, told People that 'she's happy where she is and is just taking time to herself to learn and be okay. I've been in touch with her and she likes it.' This is Lohan's second time in rehab; in January, she was in the Wonderland Center in West Hollywood.

The U.S. Army is investigating whether Deryk Schlessinger, the 21-year-old son of conservative radio host Dr. Laura Schlessinger, put up a MySpace page that includes animated scenes of rape and child molestation, TMZ.com reported. The Web page, which also supposedly includes cartoon depictions of soldiers with guns in their mouths ( and other torture scenes ) , was reportedly composed by Deryk, who is a specialist with the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan.

David Hyde Pierce, best known for playing Dr. Niles Crane on TV's Frasier, has officially come out of the closet, according to Hollywood.com . Pierce, who had not discussed his personal life for decades, has allowed the name of his long-term partner, Brian Hargrove, to be mentioned in a talk on CNN.com .

Full-figured Beth Ditto, the lesbian lead singer of the act known as The Gossip, blames gay fashion designers for the women's size-zero fashion trend, according to The Post Chronicle. Ditto told the music publication NME that 'if there's anyone to blame for size zero, it's not women. Blame gay men who work in the fashion industry and want these women as dolls. Men don't know what it feels like to be a woman and be expected to look a particular way.'

In his divorce battle with Anne Heche, Coley Laffoon has been granted joint temporary custody of their son, Homer, according to ABC4.com . Laffoon will also receive $19,000 in spousal and child support for the month of May—a bit below the $33,000 monthly financial aid he requested.

George Michael has pled guilty to driving while being under the influence of 'tiredness and prescribed drugs,' 365Gay.com reported. Michael was arrested last October; he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car.

Like sex and violence, the presence of smoking in a movie can affect a film's rating, according to USA Today. The Motion Picture Association of America ( MPAA ) , under increasing pressure to change its ratings criteria, announced that it would look at the amount and type of smoking in a film to help determine its rating. The MPAA plans to use phrases such as 'glamorized smoking' or 'pervasive smoking.'

Yoko Ono will headline the Pitchfork Music Festival in Union Park in Chicago on July 13-15, according to NWITimes.com . Other acts include The New Pornographers; Sonic Youth; GZA; Clipse; and The Sea and Cake. Single-day weekend tickets are $25 and are at www.pitchforkmusicfestival.com .

Broadway stars such as Kristin Chenoweth and Hugh Jackman are attached to upcoming television pilots, according to Playbill.com . Chenowith will co-star with Swoosie Kurtz in the ABC show Pushing Daisies, while Jackman will executive-produce and guest-star in the CBS feature Viva Laughlin! Speaking of new shows, others include the Gray's Anatomy spin-off with Kate Walsh, Taye Diggs and Tim Daly; and Dirty Sexy Money, with Pater Krause, Donald Sutherland and Jill Clayburgh.

In England, a prosecutor has told a London court that singer George Michael had a mix of cannibis, an antidepressant and GHB in his system when he was arrested in his car last October, according to People.com . Michael, 43, had pled guilty on May 8 to driving while under the influence of drugs; he could get up to six months in jail on June 8, his sentencing date.

An e-mail that Nicole Richie meant as a joke has backfired. According to People.com, an invite to a barbecue that read, in part, 'We have no clue what Memorial Day really means,' and 'There will be a scale at the front door. No girls over 100 pounds allowed in,' was sent to bloggers, who thought that Richie was making fun of Memorial Day and her own weight issues. Richie told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show that she does not understand the fuss.

Harry Potter fans will soon find their Hogwarts in Florida, CNN.com reported. Potter writer J.K. Rowling has given permission for an Orlando theme park dedicated to the young wizard to be built. The park, a joint project between Warner Bros. and Universal Orlando Resort, is scheduled to open in 2009.
