CHICAGO — A cultural exhibit featuring a traveling exhibition from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, red ribbon AIDS awareness pins and other memorabilia will be held in conjunction with Gay Games VII in Chicago this summer. The exhibit, "STICKS + STONES: From Pink Triangles to Gold Medals: Reclaiming Our Identity," is being funded by a private committee and hosted by the Gilloury Institute, a Chicago non-profit best known for its theatrical productions as Silk Road Theater Project.

This unique exhibit comprises three sections: "Nazi Persecution of Homosexuals 1933–1945," a traveling exhibition organized and circulated by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum; "Red Ribbons: To Remind Us All…," an extensive collection of AIDS remembrance pins, buttons, and stamps from Chicagoan Norman L. Sandfield; and "Gold Medals," selected memorabilia from past Gay Games.

As an affiliated event of Gay Games VII, STICKS + STONES will welcome visitors every day from July 13 to August 5. Housed in the Gage Gallery at Roosevelt University, 18 S. Michigan Avenue, the exhibit will be right in the heart of the action. The Gage Gallery is located directly opposite Millennium Park and only steps away from Grant Park, site of several medal ceremonies.

STICKS + STONES is hosted with the generous participation of the Gilloury Institute, along with the support of individual donors including Jeffrey Grinspoon & Jon Foley, Charles Katzenmeyer, and Tracy Baim, who are heading the fundraising campaign to bring the exhibit to Chicago. The Rubens Family Foundation is a founding donor. Chief sponsor is Windy City Times newspaper. For sponsorship opportunities, please see www.sticksandstonesexhibit.com or call 齅) 871-7610.
