Saturday June 6th

Virtual Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Gay Disney
10:00am

ORLANDO, Fla. - June 1, 2020 - To kick off Pride Month, the KindRED Pride Foundation announces a 12-Hour Virtual Celebration on Saturday June 6 and their Take the RED Shirt Challenge to inspire ONE MILLION people to wear RED on the first Saturday in June 2020 (June 6) as a sign of solidarity for those that believe in Diversity, Inclusion, Equality, Safe Expression, and Kindness. "Although the 30th Anniversary will look much different than the previous 29, it is time to expand the Magic created from this long-running and iconic event beyond Magic Kingdom and to the world" says Tom Christ, Advisory Board Member. One of Kindred Pride's missions is to honor the original attendees of 'Gay Disney' who started this event back in 1991. Most were Disney Cast Members and friends who braved the "pink ceiling" risking their jobs or advancement opportunities. The Gay and Lesbian Day at Magic Kingdom now called RED Shirt Pride Day grew to over 180,000 guests at one time according to Visit Orlando. The KindRED Pride Foundation is challenging people around the world to post an image or video of themselves wearing RED using the social media hashtags #RSPD and #taketheREDshirtchallenge. This Saturday they invite you to join Kindred Pride's Virtual Celebration hosted by One Magical Weekend and CircuitParty.Live. A 12-Hour virtual streaming of 12 international DJs along with flashbacks from the past 29 years. Enjoy the #Pride Beats of DJ Paulo, Twisted Dee, Edgar+Oscar Velazquez, GSP, Cindel, Obra Primitiva, Bio Zounds, Sinna-G, Alex Cabot, Edil Hernandez, and JB Burgos who all generously donated their talent and time to the cause! Hosted by Peaches aka Tiger Queen, the virtual "Gay Disney" is nationally sponsored by Pride Radio, 26 Health, Hardrive Productions, and Engayged Weddings. "Challenging 30 of your friends to join you in honor of the 30th Anniversary is the most important step" said Billy Looper, co-founder of KindRED Pride. "Let's kick off the first weekend of Pride Month with one million people around the world wearing RED as a celebration of life in all of its different colors, shapes, sizes, genders, orientations, nationalities, ages, abilities, and status."
