Andersonville Midsommarfest

The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce (ACC) will postpone the 55th annual Andersonville Midsommarfest, originally scheduled for June 12-14, to the weekend of Aug. 21-23. This decision was made with consideration in light of the current restriction of large gatherings needed to bend the curve and stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Likewise, ACC said it will make any future decision regarding the Aug. 21-23 weekend with the health and safety of the community at the forefront. Held annually to mark the celebration of Midsommar in Sweden-which falls during the summer solstice (June 20)-Andersonville Midsommarfest is a celebration of Andersonville's Swedish heritage, LGBTQ+ pride, vibrant local business community and usually, the unofficial start of summer in Chicago. The deadline for applications for Midsommarfest has been extended for vendors through Friday, July 3. Information on applications can be found at StarEvents.com. ACC will continue to provide updates as they become available on the Andersonville Midsommarfest website at Andersonville.org/midsommarfest.
