Macy's 112th Chicago Tree Lighting 12:00pm
With over 2,000 ornaments and 6,600 sparkling lights, it has been a centerpiece of the holiday season for 112 years.
This year, Macy's invites customers to Believe in the Wonder that makes the holidays everyone's favorite time of year. The Great Tree will emulate this theme through the wonder of giving, with large gifts surrounded by festive silver, gold and red colors. Meanwhile, the 52nd Annual Holiday Windows at Macy's State Street will inspire Chicagoans to Believe in the Wonder through the animated story of Sunny the Snowpal and her dedication to making sure Santa's sleigh travels safely on Christmas Eve.
WHO: This year's celebration will include a special appearance by electric violinist Brian King Joseph and a local Make-A-Wish child.
Brian King Joseph, nicknamed "The King of Electric Violin," is a self-taught master of his craft. Brian picked up violin, piano and voice at age four and trained classically. He won multiple state competitions for violin performance while competing against violinists three or more years over his age group. Living with a rare and very painful nerve disease called peripheral neuropathy only serves to fuel his fire to make music and inspire others as he continues to deliver a brand-new violin sound and incredible stage presence. Brian is most known for his electric violinist act from Season 13 of "America's Got Talent," where he finished the competition in third place.
