Chicago's LGBTQ Economic Justice Summit 10:00am
Are you an LGBTQ person who is upset at the economic inequality growing in our community? Are you ready to stand up for economic justice? Chicago's first LGBTQ Economic Justice Summit will make history September 7th and 8th as we bring together LGBTQ workers from accross the region to discuss what a grassroots movement for economic justice could look like in our community. The LGBTQ Economic Justice Summit is our chance to come together, build community, and get the tools we need to organize for a better tomorrow. Workshops will include:
Advocating for Equity and Inclusion in the workplace
Clapbacks 101 (facing microaggressions at work)
... And Brainstorming How to Win Economic Justice in Our Communities.
You will leave with knowledge of the multiple paths you can take if you encounter discrimination or harassment in your workplace, skills on how to use your story to create social change, and a community beside you ready to support your work in standing up for economic justice.
*Note: This space operates using an anti-racist anti-oppression lens that centers Queer and Trans People of Color throughout our member and leadership.
Accessibility Note: This event is entirely wheelchair accessible with mics available. For questions about disability accommodations or for ESL translation email Joan.Jones@lgbtqworkerscenter.org. In addition, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. To RSVP and secure a free ticket please email Joan.Jones@LGBTQworkerscenter.org
