Wicker Park Fest
5:00pm - 10:00pm

CHICAGO - June 28, 2019 - The 16th annual Wicker Park Fest today announced the 2019 lineups for its live music, arts and kid's stages. The 3-day festival that Chicago magazine and Chicago Tribune have called one of the "best" of the summer returns July 26th through 28th with some of the most acclaimed live entertainment of the season and four stages that appeal to all tastes and ages. Chicago's biggest street fest (in terms of city blocks) reflects Wicker Park's rich music and cultural heritage, with over 50 musical artists and an entire area dedicated to interactive art. If that's not enough flavor, the annual weekend bash also includes over 100 vendors - a colorful mix of neighborhood restaurants, boutiques and artisans, worldly dancers, a "silent party," and the always-popular Kids Fest. Live Music at Wicker Park Fest: Above all, Wicker Park Fest is a music-first festival, attracting some of the summer's most sought-after bands. Since the beginning, the iconic live music venue located in Wicker Park, Subterranean, has been a partner in curating the festival's lineup. 2019 talent ranges from established acts like Murder By Death and Wavves, to cutting edge trendsetters like Durand Jones, this year's breakout act at SXSW who is arguably the hottest new name on the lineup, to Leikeli47 - who preaches body image positivity during her infectious live shows and in her most recent album, "Acrylic," a top 50 album of the year by NPR. The (nearly complete) live music stage lineups are as follows: North Stage FRIDAY 9:00 - 10:00 Screaming Females 7:45 - 8:30 Bad Cop/Bad Cop 6:30 - 7:15 Blood People SATURDAY 8:30 - 10:00 Durand Jones & The Indications 7:15 - 8:00 Lowdown Brass Band 6:00 - 6:45 Hot Flash Heat Wave 4:45 - 5:30 Sacred Paws 3:30 - 4:15 Free Snacks 2:15 - 3:00 Jupiter Styles 12:00 - 1:45 School Of Rock Highwood/Evanston SUNDAY 8:45 - 10:00 Leikeli47 7:15 - 8:15 Open Mike Eagle 6:00 - 6:45 Sidney Gish 4:45 - 5:30 Mother Nature 3:30 - 4:15 Nikki Lynette 2:15 - 3:00 CASE 1:00 - 1:45 Arts of Life South Stage FRIDAY 8:45 - 10:00 Hepcat 7:15 - 8:15 Deals Gone Bad 6:00 - 6:45 Emily Blue 5:00 - 5:30 E.N Young SATURDAY 9:00 - 10:00 WAVVES 7:45 - 8:30 Vundabar 6:30 - 7:15 Viagra Boys 5:15 - 6:00 Amyl & The Sniffers 4:00 - 4:45 Early Eyes 3:00 - 3:30 CJ Run 1:00 - 2:30 School Of Rock Chicago West SUNDAY 8:30 - 10:00 Superchunk 7:00 - 8:00 Murder By Death 5:45 - 6:30 LA Witch 4:30 - 5:15 Shy Boys 3:15 - 4:00 Fran 1:00 - 2:45 School Of Rock Chicago Center Stage FRIDAY 8:30 - 10:00 Reggae Gold 7:00 - 8:30 TBA (in subsequent release) 6:00 - 6:45 TBA (in subsequent release) 5:30 - 6:00 TBA (in subsequent release) 5:00 - 5:30 TBA (in subsequent release) SATURDAY 8:45 - 10:00 Future Rootz 8:00 - 8:45 Jesse de la Pena 7:00 - 8:00 Kinky P 6:00 - 7:00 Beats y Bateria 5:00 - 6:00 DJ Angelfuk SUNDAY 8:00 - 10:00 Emo Nite LA 6:45 - 7:30 AM Taxi 5:30 - 6:15 Jovan Landry The Silent Party: New this year is the Silent Party at Wicker Park Fest beginning at 6 pm each evening of the fest on the Walgreen Lot Stage. Attendees are encouraged to grab a pair of headphones and dance to live DJs spinning Old School Hip Hop, EMD/Dance & Top 40 / Live Requests. Silent discos have been taking the youth of the nation by storm! Each paid rental of $10/ea or $15 for two includes a switch to toggle between three separate channels (GREEN, RED & BLUE), featuring a different DJ battling for attendee's attention. It's a unique experience; all the clubbing with no amplified sound. Remove the headphones to talk to a friend. Throw them back on and dance the night away. DJ 1 (Green toggle): Old School Hip Hop DJ 2 (Red toggle): EDM/Dance DJ 3 (Blue toggle): Top 40 / Requests Live Printing Demo & Free Giveaway: Also new this year is Transit Tees live printing demo & free giveaway. Transit Tees, a Chicago inspired gift shop, will be doing a live demonstration on how to hand screen print tee shirts. With generous support from SSA#33 and the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, Transit Tees has designed three different shirt graphics commemorating Wicker Park Fest 2019. Festgoers can pick their favorite combination of design, tee shirt color, and ink color. Then, they watch as their own unique shirt combination is printed right in front of their eyes. This event is free to participate in for all fest attendees that have paid their gate entry donation and received a Wicker Park Fest pin. Complimentary tee shirts will be provided while supplies last (up to 500 per day). Arts Area at Wicker Park Fest: Over the years, the Arts Area at Wicker Park Fest has included some of the summer's most thought provoking sculpture installations and visually stimulating performances and exhibitions. This showcase of unique and inspired works from some of the most talented local artists is always a "can't miss" cultural event. This season, contemporary artists and local organizations will continue to curate interactive, unexpected encounters with the public. Featured 2019 artists include: Interactive, spherical inflatables designed by artist Claire Ashley, 'Out Of Site Chicago' curating five interactive performances by local, national and international performance artists, Kandero & O'Neill's 'Audioreolae' - an interactive sculpture/stage/loopstation that allows the participant to create real-time audio loops; and Rosenberg/Balestrieri's 'Water Dancer' - an interactive family/hipster-friendly water-based 'pop up' sculpture garden. There will also be local Bollywood and Hawaiian dance troupes featured on the cultural stage. Arts Area at Wicker Park Fest is presented by WPB Special Service Area #33, which is administered by the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce. Kids Fest at Wicker Park Fest: Wicker Park Fest is home to one of the summer's most beloved kid's events. Kids Fest at Wicker Park Fest is a fest-within-a-fest. The action takes place off the beaten path at Wolcott and Milwaukee and there is no separate entrance fee.
