Earth, Air, Water, and Fire Day
9:00pm - 12:00pm
In addition to local eats and a fishing derby where contestants will win prizes in categories including first catch, longest fish, and shortest fish, community partners and sponsors will provide a variety of activities that are fun for the whole family, including: Forest Preserves of Cook County will lead guided hikes in Busse Woods and supervise a kids tree climb and nature play; L.L. Bean will provide fly fishing casting lessons and teach attendees how to create survival bracelets out of a parachute cord; Brookfield Zoo and Shedd Aquarium will stop by with animal ambassadors to meet attendees; and Chicago Botanical Garden will provide a demonstration on composting.
