Need financial aid? Ask us! We want to make sure this event is accessible to you and prioritize aid to POC attendees. Do you want to donate to make this workshop available to those who can't afford it? Talk with us! Do you have kids and they want to come? Bring them! We love having kids in our shop. The minimum age to participate is 8 years old. Ages 17 and under need to be accompanied by an adult. Who we are: We call ourselves Dykes With Drills because we think it's empowering to use the word dyke, and because we love using drills. We are inclusive of all Queer people, LGBTQI+ and we welcome Queer allies. We LOVE creating. We love taking a dream and turning it into a reality. We love building with all kinds of materials like wood, metal, and plastics, and learning the skills to do so. We also LOVE being self expressed. We love our bodies, we love our minds, we love our hearts, and we love how we are the source of POWERFUL creative energy. Yes we call ourselves Dykes with Drills, and we are a group of builders inclusive of all gender non conforming, trans people and allies. We welcome anyone and everyone who wants these skills for themselves and their communities to reach out and participate with us! Here at Dykes with Drills we are committed to 4 goals. 1. Giving people independence and confidence when using power tools 2. Creating communities of people through project based collaboration 3. Learning from our mistakes 4. Providing all of this for free or at an affordable price If you want more information or to get in contact with us directly, email us at dykeswithdrills@gmail.com. Accessibility: Are you in a wheel chair? There is wheel chair access in the building, however not all of the tools are accessible or set up to be operated safely by someone in a wheel chair. Some modifications in the shop can be made if we know in advance that you are coming. Do you have a low scent tolerance? We ask that our participants refrain from using extreme scents, though cannot guarantee the workshop space will be scent free. Please know that sawdust is present in the shop and we have masks available upon request. Are you ASL? We currently don't have translation available, and would love to work with you about how you can access our workshops. The best thing to do if you are someone who has questions is to message us! We are happy to work with you and your needs. Workshop Policies: Please review policies below before committing to a workshop. All workshops are 18+; no woodworking experience necessary; If Rebuilding Exchange needs to cancel a workshop, we will notify you 24 before the class and give you the option of refund or reschedule
