Chicago Feminist Film Festival 6:30pm
Columbia College Chicago will host the fourth annual through March 1. Opening night features the Chicago premiere of documentary Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blache, directed by Pamela B. Green. Be Natural follows director Green's journey uncovering footage from archives all over the world, paired with narration by Jodie Foster. (Guy-Blache was the first-ever female film director, and produced more than 1,000 films.)
Be Natural will be shown for free Wed., Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m. in Film Row Cinema, 1104 S. Wabash Ave. Green will be available for a post-screening talkback.
The festival-which a press release said "strives to unveil the great creative work of women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community"- is free and open to the public.
In addition to the premiere of Be Natural, the festival includes two more feature films-Crystal Swan and Bei Bei-as well as 40 short films and two web series from 15 countries.
Audiences will have the opportunity to participate in post-screening talkbacks with both national and international directors in inclusive, interactive conversations on topics seen in films.
