Stand-Up Comic Maria Bamford
8:00pm - 10:00pm

CHICAGO (January 29, 2019) - Maria Bamford, star of the hit Netflix comedy series Lady Dynamite, brings her stand-up tour to The Den Theatre for six performances only March 14 - 17, 2019 on The Heath Main Stage, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. Tickets ($35 general admission, $55 VIP table seating) are currently available at www.thedentheatre.com, in person at the The Den box office or by calling (773) 697-3830. Ages 21+.

Maria Bamford stars in the semi-autobiographical Netflix comedy series Lady Dynamite, lauded as "revelatory" by Entertainment Weekly and one of 2016's must-see shows by Variety and Rolling Stone. The series was created by Mitch Hurwitz (Arrested Development) and Pam Brady (South Park). Her new special Old Baby is also available on Netflix.

Maria is the creator and star of Maria Bamford: the special special special and of the cult hit web series The Maria Bamford Show, which screened at the Museum of Art and Design. She was the first female comic to have two half-hour Comedy Central Presents specials and starred alongside Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifianakis and Brian Posehn in the Comedy Central series The Comedians of Comedy and Netflix's Comedians of Comedy: The Movie.

Maria voices characters on numerous animated series including BoJack Horseman, Adventure Time, Legend of Korra, Puss in Boots and PBS's Emmy- winning series Word Girl. She can also be heard voicing lead roles on Fox's Golan the Insatiable and Yahoo's Talking Tom & Friends.

Maria recurred as DeBrie Bardeaux on Netflix's Arrested Development reboot, for which she was praised as a "standout" (TIME) and "perhaps one of the high points of the entire new season" (Black Book Magazine). She has also recurred on USA's Benched, FX's critically-praised Louie and currently recurs on the ABC hit Fresh Off the Boat.

About The Den Theatre

Artistic Director Ryan Martin opened The Den in 2010 with a single theatre space. Seven years later, The Den boasts five intimate and unique theaters on two floors ranging from 50 - 200 seats, as well as two additional spaces primarily used for classes and rehearsals. The Den is also equipped with two bars enveloped by a never-ending field of lounge space for audiences and like-minded culture hounds to drink, talk, read, watch, think, listen and live. The Den is home to seven resident theatre companies including First Floor Theater, Haven Theatre Company, Griffin Theatre, The New Colony, Broken Nose Theatre, WildClaw Theatre and Firebrand Theatre. Hundreds of other companies from Chicago and beyond have also called The Den home, utilizing its theaters, studio space and easily convertible cabaret space to accommodate a stream of programming, including plays, musicals, film screenings, classical and jazz performances, dance, improv and stand-up, seminars and speaking engagements.
