Join us for a free reading, audience Q&A, and book-signing to celebrate the paperback release of the award-winning Queer Clout: Chicago and the Rise of Gay Politics.
Timothy Stewart-Winter teaches U.S. history at Rutgers University-Newark, and is currently a visiting scholar at Harvard University's Charles Warren Center for Studies in American History. His writing has appeared in the Journal of American History, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Journal of Urban History, Gender & History, the Journal of the History of Sexuality, Dissent, and Slate. His first book, Queer Clout: Chicago and the Rise of Gay Politics, won the 2017 John Boswell Prize for the outstanding book in the field of LGBT history, awarded by the American Historical Association's Committee on LGBT History.
