  TODAYS GAY & LESBIAN EVENTS

Monday May 8th

Gender Revolution
5:00pm

Please join Center on Halsted and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago on Monday, May 8th, for some family fun. We will be picnicking and exploring the documentary film, "Gender Revolution." This family-focused event promises to be both entertaining and educational. 5PM: Picnic!!! Bring a blanket and a basket full of your favorite picnic food up to Center on Halsted's third floor. Spread your blanket out on the floor, unpack your basket, and enjoy an "indoor picnic." When was the last time you had one of those? No time to make a picnic? No problem. Pizza and pop will be also be served. We'll even have a few chairs for those who may have trouble sitting on the floor. 6:30PM: We'll all go into the theatre for a screening of National Geographic's two-hour documentary "Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric." This is a compelling look at the shifting and often surprising landscape of gender as it impacts the lives of people from every walk of life. Katie Couric travels across the U.S. to talk with scientists, psychologists, activists, authors and families about the complexities of gender. After the documentary, we'll have an onstage panel discussion/Q&A session featuring community members as well as staff from Lurie Children's Hospital and Center on Halsted. Please come and be part of this unique evening. Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring your blanket. Bring your picnic basket. Most importantly, bring a willingness to learn and share. An indoor picnic and a movie-what's not to like? PRICE $10 Suggested Donation for adults.* Children under age 12 are free.
