Illinois Women March on Springfield 12:00pm
More than 50 organizations have joined a coalition to educate and organize around dozens of progressive bills being proposed in the Illinois House and Senate this session. A day for advocacy, lobbying and a large rally.
The progressive agenda includes a focus on the Women's Agenda, the People's Agenda of labor issues, plus issues including immigration, homelessness, criminal legal reform, the environment, LGBTQ, gun safety, health, economics and passing a responsible budget in Illinois.
This march is being co-chaired by Tracy Baim of Windy City Times and Pride Action Tank and Jaquie Algee of SEIU-Healthcare and Women's March on Chicago, and from Springfield, Jennifer Camille Lee of Action Illinois and Women Rising-Illinois. The organizing team also includes Claire Shingler (outreach), Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth (transportation), Alison Stanton (website), Tod Tatsui (logo design), and Jessica Scheller (Women's March on Chicago).
