The Goodman Theatre brought its annual black-tie gala to The Fairmont Chicago this past weekend. It was a cabaret-styled affair with dancing girls and boas on the red lamp-topped tables. Tony Award-winning Laura Benanti brought the Broadway to the night with songs from her past shows, including Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and Into the Woods. She also sang selections from The Sound of Music and stated that she feels like a gay man is trapped inside her body from loving musicals since a child.
